A Fort Wayne man admitted to taking part in a theft ring that sold the loot on eBay.
Wayne L. Scott, 27, of the 2700 block of Sandarac Lane, pleaded guilty last week in Allen Superior Court to receiving stolen property, receiving stolen auto parts and corrupt business influence.
Scott, Jason L. Newman, 36, and his brother Jeremy J. Newman, 33, were arrested in November after an investigation into thefts from vehicles.
An undercover investigator posed as an eBay shopper and bought a plumbing tool from Scott. When he was arrested, police recovered at least 50 items linked to at least nine different theft reports, court documents said.
As part of a plea agreement with prosecutors, Scott will be sentenced to two years in prison and two years on probation. Scott also agreed to testify truthfully in ongoing criminal investigations, according to court documents.
He will be sentenced in February.
