You may have noticed that I ask people, a LOT, about where they get inspiration.
I used to do it because I had a serious fear of creative block. Now I do it just because I'm curious.
Kaffe Fassett's Glorious Inspiration for Needlepoint and Knitting answers that question for me.
The very first words in the introduction are "At last I am able to bring you the book I have looked for all my designing life."
The book is full of rich, lovely colors. Tapestries, geometric tiles, paintings, photographs and other forms of visual art crowd the pages.
It could serve as a source book all on its own, or it could be a launching pad for further knitterly exploration. Why not look to the pattern on your favorite armchair or vase for the colorwork on your next pair of mittens?
Chapters are arranged into topics like "fruit and foliage" and "small creatures." The back of the book has a very short section on needlework (embroidery) techniques.
Overall, a fun book full of great ideas and lovely colors.
