A robbery at a Fort Wayne bar was thwarted after a bartender wrestled a gun away from one of the robbers, city police reports said.

Three men, all about 20 years old, came into Broadway Joe’s Tavern at 2514 Broadway about 9 p.m. Sunday.

One of the men jumped over the bar toward the bartender, pointed a handgun at him and screamed, “Give me the money!” the reports stated.

The bartender grabbed the gun the man was holding, and as the two tussled, the gun discharged, but no one was injured, the reports stated.

While the robber and the bartender struggled, the two other robbers told bar-goers to get on the floor.

After the bartender gained control of the gun, the three robbers left the bar, the reports stated.
