Kendallville Public Library will no longer allow any patrons who owe library fees of $10 or more to use the public computers at Kendallville and Limberlost Public libraries. Fines and fees must be paid to under $10 before privileges can be reinstated.
Fines are charged for overdue materials at the rate of 25 cents per day, up to a maximum of $10 per item. Patrons who provide the library with their email address will receive notices three days before the items are due. Patrons who do not provide the library with an email address will receive a notice by mail when the items become overdue.
Kendallville and Limberlost libraries are members of Evergreen Indiana – a consortium of dozens of libraries across the state – and the new rule follows Evergreens statewide policy that prohibits card holders from using the public computers or checking out additional materials if they owe $10 or more in fines.
