Two rural Shipshewana residents were arrested late Monday on drug-related charges, Indiana State Police said today.
James L. Ibbotson, 28, and Madison L. Baldwin, 23, were held at the LaGrange County Jail, state police at Fort Wayne said in a statement.
Police said state police and the county sheriff's department attempted to serve court papers about 10:30 p.m. Monday at a home in the 5800 block of North County Road 1055 West.
During their encounter with Ibbotson, the statement said, troopers and deputies located items commonly used in the production of methamphetamine, an active one-pot meth lab and drug paraphernalia.
He and Baldwin were taken into custody without incident, the statement said.
Ibbotson was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine, possession of methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance, possession of precursors, maintaining a common nuisance and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, as well as two misdemeanors.
Baldwin was charged with possession of a controlled substance and a misdemeanor.
