Shooter's Comments:
I went to the Perez household to take a portrait of Brandon Perez, 3, to go with a story that Frank Gray was writing. Brandon has Joubert Syndrome, which is very rare. I set up a soft box with a strobe, since it a gray day and there wasn't enough light coming in through the window. After a couple of shots, I realized that the strobe was going to be too distracting to Brandon.
I ended up pushing the ISO on the camera to to 1250 and shot with a slow shutter speed, which caused a little blur as Luis Perez played with his son. I am hoping that the this nice moment between the two of them makes up for a little blur.
