And Another Thing

Mike Vanderjagt in 2006.

Irony alert

Well, this is interesting.

Remember back in the early 2000s, after yet another playoff flameout by the Indianapolis Colts, when Colts' kicker Mike Vanderjagt said, in so many words, that the Colts needed to get nastier, meaner and, well, tougher?

In response, Peyton Manning delivered his now-legendary line about not caring what his "idiot kicker" said. And a lot of people chuckled.

Not me. I wrote then, and still believe now, that Vanderjagt was right on the money. And now here's the team owner himself, Jim Irsay, saying he thinks the Colts need to get "tougher."

Methinks someone owes Vanderjagt an apology.
