Not many, but vocal

Eventually, 1,149 showed up for IPFW's game at the Gates Center against North Dakota State.

It didn't start out that way, since there weren't many just before tipoff.

But even IPFW coach Tony Jasick had to admit that there was something special in the Mastodons' 75-66 Summit League win over the Bison on Thursday.

The crowd got the players pumped up, and the players responded with one of their better games of the season.

In his post game press conference, Jasick hinted that IPFW is considering moving out of Memorial Coliseum and back into the Gates Center.

While the venue isn't as large, and doesn't have the bells and whistles, the Gates Center offers an atmosphere - something I've been a proponent of.

And it didn't hurt that the team played well, led by Frank Gaines' 23 points.
