Bobby Chaumont scored twice for the Komets in a 6-3 loss at Arizona on Saturday.
Olivier Proulx had one goal and two assists for Arizona.
He assisted on Kyle Hood’s goal at 2:05 of the first period for the game’s first goal. Jean-Philipp Chabot scored on a power play to extend Arizona’s lead to 2-0 at 7:29 of the second period.
Chaumont scored his first goal at 10:56 of the second period.
Proulx and Samson Mahbod scored the next two goals, stretching Arizona’s lead to 4-1.
Nick Boucher started and gave up the first four goals. He made 26 saves. Gerry Festa entered later in the second period and finished with 13 saves.
Chaumont cut the deficit to 4-2 with a goal at 18:11 of the second period.
Craig Macdonald scored a short-handed goal at 12:07 to make it 5-2. Jean-Michel Rizk responded with a power-play goal for Fort Wayne at 12:19.
Tyler Butler got it right back for the Sundogs (13-22-7), scoring at 15:12 to make it 6-3.
Fort Wayne (25-13-2) is at Quad City on Friday.
