Pot, guns found in Albion meth probe

The discovery of 10 to 15 pounds of marijuana and possibly stolen guns in a home near Albion prompted the arrest of a 57-year-old man, the Noble County Sheriff’s Department said.

Kriss E. Bauman’s home in 5300 block of North County Road 400 East was searched Saturday evening because the sheriff’s department suspected a methamphetamine lab and weapons were inside.

While there was no meth lab, authorities did find a small amount of meth, 10 to 15 pounds of marijuana, several pieces of drug paraphernalia and “numerous” guns, some suspected of being stolen, according to a statement from the sheriff’s department.

Bauman was arrested and initially charged with felony possession of marijuana.

More charges are expected, the sheriff’s department said.

He was being held without bond Sunday at the Noble County Jail.
