Vessels named university foundation board president

Statement issued Tuesday by Huntington University:

HUNTINGTON, Ind. — Ed Vessels, owner of HiValu LLC, a leadership and consulting firm in Roanoke, Ind., has been elected president of the Huntington University Foundation Board of Directors. He will serve a three-year term.

As president, Vessels will also serve on the HU Board of Trustees. Vessels succeeds Brooks Fetters, recently elected mayor of Huntington.

“As president of the Foundation, I intend to work with the board to increase community involvement with the university and to grow the number of scholarship opportunities available to Huntington community students,” Vessels said.

Vessels is a certified public accountant, and has been involved locally with the Huntington County Chamber of Commerce, United Way, YMCA and Huntington County Leadership. He holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Bowling Green State University and a master’s degree in business administration from The Ohio State University. He is married with two children.

Since 1938, the Huntington University Foundation has assisted Huntington County residents who attend Huntington University through the annual Huntington County Grant and endowed scholarships. The foundation also supports community arts events. The Foundation hosts a breakfast each month featuring various topics and speakers.
