Whitko senior Logan Irwin is nearing 2,000 career points after scoring 16 on Tuesday in a 53-48 win over Carroll.
Irwin, the son of Whitko coach/athletic director Rob Irwin, upped his all-time point total to 1,988. Irwin, who is averaging 29 points, can go over the milestone mark at home Friday against North Miami.
Irwin will be the 41st player in state history to achieve the career point total.
There have been six other northeast Indiana players go over 2,000 in their career - led by Deshaun Thomas' 3,018 total for Bishop Luers.
