Irish ready to sign class of 2012

Notre Dame is expected to sign the rest of its 2012 recruits today.

The Irish already have their top recruit on campus as Gunner Kiel, the nation’s top pro-style quarterback prospect, joined defensive linemen Sheldon Day and defensive back Tee Shepard as early enrollees Jan. 17.

Notre Dame has the No. 15 class, according to Rivals.com, but it could boost its ranking by flipping Florida recruit Brian Poole, a four-star cornerback prospect, today.

For a list of players expected to sign, see Page 3B. For more on the recruiting class, go to “Irish Insights” at www.journalgazette.net.
