Mad Ants acquire guard

The Mad Ants have acquired Devan Downey from the available player pool and have waived point guard Tory Jackson due to an injury suffered this week in practice.

Downey is a 5-foot-9 point guard out of the University of South Carolina. He played overseas last season in Turkey, Croatia, and France. As a senior at South Carolina he averaged 22.5 points and 3.5 assists per game. He was selected to the 1st Team All-SEC all three years at South Carolina and started his career at Cincinnati where he was named to the Big East All-Rookie team.

Downey will join the team tonight at the Memorial Coliseum as the Mad Ants take on the Maine Red Claws.
