A Warsaw-area man with a record of indecent exposure has been arrested by Kosciusko County sheriff's deputies, accused of exposing himself to children at a school southeast of Nappanee.
Deputies were notified on Saturday about something that happened a week ago today at the school attended by Amish children, according to a written statement issued by the sheriff's department.
It said detectives continued the investigation this week and were able to obtain a license plate number that led them to Darrin Ray Gibbs, 46, of County Road 250 South.
The sheriff's department said Gibbs admitted to a detective that he had stopped outside the school, exposing and touching himself in view of children.
It was also discovered during the investigation that Gibbs has two previous convictions of indecent exposure in Michigan in 1989 and 1991, the statement said.
Gibbs was arrested at 4 p.m. Thursday and preliminarily charged with felony public indecency/indecent exposure and felony vicarious sexual gratification. The Kosciusko County Prosecutor's Office has set Gibb's bond at $2,000.
The sheriff's department said he remained in the county jail Friday morning.
