FWN, Monster partner on jobs

Fort Wayne Newspapers has announced a partnership with Monster.com that will provide a new avenue for companies to recruit employees and job seekers to find employment.

On Tuesday, jobs.fortwayne.com will start as a regional Internet site that will also include résumé management and career advice.

“We will also introduce Monster Match, which will help the job seeker build a skills profile that will be available to employers,” Henry Phillips, advertising manager for Fort Wayne Newspapers, said in a statement. Monster Match is designed to help companies find the right candidate quickly and easily.

Fort Wayne Newspapers is the business agent for The Journal Gazette and The News-Sentinel, both of which will also post job listings to the jobs.fortwayne.com site.

Monster.com is a leader in Internet advertising for job opportunities.

Companies will benefit from having unlimited text offered with online job postings, allowing complete job descriptions and explicit qualifications.

Lauren Chacon, senior vice president for Monster’s Media Alliances Group, said the company is thrilled about the partnership. Chacon said job seekers will have access to the “best job opportunities in their markets,” and employers will find it easier to tap into the talent available in the area.
