Police arrested a mother and her boyfriend after doctors found numerous injuries in various stages of healing on the woman's 2-year-old son that put the boy in critical condition, court records said.

The boy was initially taken to the hospital by ambulance Saturday because he was having a seizure.

Once hospital staff found the various injuries, police were called and the boy's mother told police several different versions of how the injuries occurred, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday.

Hospital staff determined the child had three different brain bleeds, two that were three weeks old, court records said.

Other injuries included a contact burn to the face and one to the left leg, a nickel-sized red mark in the middle of his forehead, three smaller bruises that were the size of a nickel and in various stages of healing, bruising on the inside and outside of his thighs, bruises in different stages of healing up and down both legs, eight bruises on his back in various stages of healing, an abrasion on his back, bruising on his buttocks and a bruise along his hairline on the back of his neck, the affidavit said.

Holly Fedock, also known as Holly Brooks, 21, of the 2100 block of Olladale Drive, and Amilcar Estrada, 40, of the 700 block of Union Street, were arrested and preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependant, causing serious bodily injury, a Class B felony punishable by six to 20 years in prison.

Fedock told police that only she and Estrada had contact with the boy for several weeks.

The boy was initially determined to be in critical condition by hospital staff, but was later stabilized, court records said.

Fedock was arrested at the hospital and remains in the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $10,000 bail. Estrada fled the hospital when police arrived, but was later arrested and also is being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
