Fitness center planned for Dupont Road

FORT WAYNE -- A multimillion-dollar fitness center will help Fort Wayne residents stick to their New Year's resolutions.

Max Fitness will open a 20,000-square-foot facility at 1415 W. Dupont Road by Feb. 20, officials said Wednesday.

Local businessman Scott Dierckman will run the center along with his Cardinal Fitness centers, which will become Max Fitness operations. He plans to expand and renovate his sites at 9914 Illinois Road and 7245 Maplecrest Road.

Columbus, Ga.-based Max Fitness Inc. is a subsidiary of FIT Brands, also of Columbus. The company has 16 locations nationwide.
