Burmese Advocacy Center moves

FORT WAYNE -- Fort Wayne’s Burmese Advocacy Center has moved to a new location.

The center’s new address is 2424 Lake Ave., the phone number is 260-755-2048 and its new general email address is center@bacindiana.org.

The website is still www.bacindiana.org, and other staff email addresses remain the same, executive director Minn Myint Nan Tin said.

The Burmese Advocacy Center grew out of a community refugee resource center on South Calhoun Street, Catherine Kasper Place. The St. Joseph Community Health Foundation, which ran Catherine Kasper Place, announced it would close it by the end of January because newly arriving refugees and grant dollars had dwindled.

Nan Tin said the Burmese Advocacy Center received several renewable grants to finance its move.
