– Police arrested a mother and her boyfriend after doctors found numerous injuries in various stages of healing on the woman’s 2-year-old son that put the boy in critical condition, court records said.

The boy was initially taken to the hospital by ambulance Saturday because he was having a seizure.

Hospital staff called police after discovering the injuries, and the boy’s mother told police several versions of how they occurred, according to a probable cause affidavit filed Monday.

Hospital employees determined the child had three brain hemorrhages, two of which were 3 weeks old, court records said.

Other injuries included a contact burn to the face and one to the left leg, a nickel-sized red mark in the middle of the boy’s forehead and three smaller bruises the size of a nickel in various stages of healing, court records said.

The toddler had also suffered bruising on his inner and outer thighs; bruises all over both legs in different stages of healing and eight bruises on his back in various stages of healing. He also showed bruises on his buttocks and a bruise along his hairline on the back of his neck, the affidavit said.

Holly Fedock, also known as Holly Brooks, 21, of the 2100 block of Olladale Drive, and Amilcar Estrada, 40, of the 700 block of Union Street, were arrested and preliminarily charged with neglect of a dependent causing serious bodily injury, a Class B felony punishable by six to 20 years in prison.

Fedock told police that only she and Estrada had contact with the boy for several weeks.

The boy was initially determined to be in critical condition by hospital employees but was later stabilized, court records said.

Fedock was arrested at the hospital and remains in the Allen County Lockup in lieu of $10,000 bail.

Estrada fled the hospital when police arrived but was later arrested and is also being held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
