Ants own halftime lead

With hopes of breaking their two-game losing streak to the Maine Red Claws, the Mad Ants own a 55-49 halftime lead Thursday at Memorial Coliseum.

Although Cam Jones leads the team with 12 points, the story so far is the return of 6-foot-5 veteran guard Ron Howard, who sat out a month with a thumb injury.

Howard has 10 points in 12:10 minutes, shooting 3 of 9 from the floor but his 4 of 4 from the free throw line and has enabled the Ants to get some easy baskets, something of which was lacking when he was gone.

Travis Walton also had 10 points for the Ants.

Steve Warden blogs all things Mad Ants.
