Drugs stolen in Whitley holdup

A man armed with a note demanding narcotics robbed a drugstore in Columbia City on Wednesday, police said.

The man entered the Walgreens at 535 N. Line St. and gave the note to a pharmacist, Columbia City police said.

The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of drugs and headed south on foot. Officers were called to the store about 3:30 p.m.

The robber was described as a white man with a medium build, standing 5-foot-7 to 5-foot-10. He was wearing a black hat with yellow lettering, blue jeans and a black jacket that may have had a hood.
