Statement issued Friday by David C. Kolbe:

In the days since I filed my petition to seek the Democratic nomination for Indiana's Third District Congressional seat,I have re-assessed my capacity to engage in the immense work necessary in such a campaign.

Personal and family challenges have arisen which have led to this re-assessment.

As a result I have regrettably informed party leaders of my decision to withdraw from the race and have filed the CAN 10 primary candidacy withdrawal with the Indiana Secretary of State, Election Division.

I will remain a private attorney in Warsaw, Indiana, assisting clients, including injured workers, and I will contribute, from outside of the political structure, as my time and skills permit in advancing just public policy.
