Confident K's win again

If we work backward, we know now what happened to the Komets in January, when they lost 7 of 12 games.

"I think everyone has just kind of changed their attitude and is managing the puck and holding the puck," said center Colin Chaulk, who scored twice and had an assist in the Komets' 4-1 victory over Quad City on Friday night.

"It's like football; if you've got the time of possession, it's pretty tough for the other team to score."

The Komets have won four in a row and five of their last six. They maintained their two-point lead over Evansville and Missouri in Turner Conference.

"Our team is getting their confidence back, getting their swagger back," said Fort Wayne coach Al Sims, who thought the Komets' second period was the best period they've played all season.

The Komets also got goals from Brett Smith, on a short-handed breakaway, and Jamie Milam, on a power play.

Quad City's goal by John Snowden came during a 5-on-3 power play for the Mallards.

Fort Wayne's Chris Auger, who had two assists, extended his point-scoring streak to seven games, tied for the fifth longest in the CHL this season. He's tallied 12 points during the run. But Auger's goal-scoring streak ended at three games.

Fort Wayne goaltender Nick Boucher made 26 saves. David Brown had 28 for Quad City.

The Komets are 5-1-0 against the Mallards this season.

Check back later tonight; I will have some great video for you.
