Woman accused of assaulting deputy

A 27-year-old woman assaulted a sheriff’s deputy while he was arresting her at a hotel in Williams County, Ohio, the sheriff’s office said.

Employees at the Holiday Inn Express in Holiday City, Ohio, called authorities at 7:53 a.m. Wednesday after a hotel guest started behaving strangely.

The guest, Tammy Tolliver-Gordon of Markham, Ill., was being disruptive, so officers arrested her, the sheriff’s office said.

While handcuffed, she struck an officer and damaged his uniform, according to the report.

The officer suffered a minor injury and was medically evaluated. Tolliver-Gordon was taken to a hospital to be checked out.

She was later booked into the Corrections Center of Northwest Ohio in Stryker on a felony charge of assault of a law enforcement officer.
