Body found in creek ID’ed as missing Indiana woman

LAFAYETTE – A body found in a north-central Indiana creek has been identified as that of a missing Lafayette woman.

WLFI-TV reports the Tippecanoe County coroner’s office identified the body found Friday in Wildcat Creek as 43-year-old Kerry Dunsmore, who was reported missing Jan. 26.

Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officer Matt Tholen says a retired police officer was canoeing in the area Friday and called DNR after he located the body.

Authorities searched the area for several days in late January but suspended their search Feb. 1 due to swift water conditions.

Officers found her vehicle and belongings at a public access site for the river. Investigators found no sign of foul play.
