ROCHESTER, Mich. – Reggie Hamilton poured in 31 points and Oakland defeated IPFW 93-82 Saturday, handing the Mastodons their fifth consecutive loss.
Frank Gaines led the Mastodons (10-15, 4-11 Summit League) with 30 points, Jonny Marlin scored 13 and Trey McCorkle had 10 points for IPFW.
Drew Valentine scored 19 points for the Golden Grizzlies, Travis Bader scored 18 and Ryan Bass scored 13 for Oakland (14-13, 8-7), which used a 13-0 run in the second half to move from a one-point deficit to a 63-51 lead.
Oakland made 12 of its 25 three-point attempts, led by Hamilton (5 of 9) and Bader (4 of 9). The Grizzlies shot 47 percent overall, while IPFW shot 45 percent.
INDIANA ST. 78, SOUTHERN ILLINOIS 68: In Terre Haute, the Sycamores set an NCAA record by making all 12 three-pointers they took against the Salukis (8-18, 5-10 Missouri Valley).
The Sycamores set the mark for games with at least 10 three-point attempts. The previous best was Ohio State making 14 of 15 last year against Wisconsin.
Jordan Printy led the way by hitting six three-pointers. Carl Richard, Dwayne Lathan and Lucas Eitel each went 2 for 2 for the Sycamores (15-11, 6-9).
Printy and Lathan scored 18 points apiece and Richard 14.
The Sycamores put the game away with a 10-0 run, holding Southern Illinois scoreless for nearly 5 minutes and turning a 50-48 lead into a 60-48 edge with 6:13 left.
KENT ST. 76, BALL ST. 55: In Kent, Ohio, Justin Greene scored 18 points and grabbed nine rebounds as the Golden Flashes rolled over the slumping Cardinals (12-11, 4-7 MAC), who have lost six games in a row.
Carlton Guyton finished with 14 points and eight assists for Kent State (18-6, 8-3), which has won six straight. Randal Holt had 13 points and Chris Evans added 11 points.
Kent State dominated in the paints, outscoring the Cardinals 36-20. The Golden Flashes never trailed and took control in the first half, claiming a 38-24 advantage at halftime.
The Cardinals shot 38 percent (19 of 50). Aaron Adeoye scored 14 to lead Ball State.
BUTLER 52, CLEVELAND ST. 49: In Cleveland, Chirshawn Hopkins broke a tie on a jumper with 1:39 left to lift the Bulldogs (15-12, 9-6 Horizon) over the conference-leading Vikings (20-6, 10-4).
Butlers Andrew Smith put them ahead 49-47 when he knocked down a jumper with 2:28 remaining in the game. The Vikings responded and evened the score on Luda Ndayes layup with just over two minutes to play.
But Hopkins, who finished with four points and four steals, made the go-ahead basket for Butler. Kameron Woods added a free throw to give the Bulldogs a three-point lead.
YOUNGSTOWN ST. 71, VALPARAISO 53: In Youngstown, Ohio, Kendrick Perry scored 23 points and Dushawn Brooks had 20 points and nine rebounds as the Penguins (14-11, 9-6) rolled past the Horizon-leading Crusaders (18-9, 11-4).
Richie Edwards led Valparaiso with 19 points. Valparaiso, which took over first place by beating Cleveland State on Thursday night, held on to the top spot as Cleveland State lost 52-49 to Butler.
TRANSYLVANIA 72, MANCHESTER 52: At Lexington, Ky., Jason Spindler scored 17 points for the Spartans (9-14, 7-9 Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference).
HUNTINGTON 67, TAYLOR 57: Shane Merryman had 21 points and 10 rebounds for the Foresters in a road victory. Caleb Kennedy had 18 points and nine rebounds for Huntington (16-12, 8-8 Mid-Central College Conference).
TRINE 74, OLIVET 49: Tim Pearcy scored 19 points for the Thunder (14-9, 7-5 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association) in a home victory.
INDIANA TECH 75, MICHIGAN-DEARBORN 57: Rodney Bartholomew had 25 points and 12 rebounds for the Warriors in a road win. Melvin Brooks and Antonio Cannon scored 11 points for Indiana Tech (20-8, 10-8 Wolverine-Hoosier Athletic Conference).

IPFW 52, OAKLAND 45: Stephanie Rosado had 20 points and eight rebounds for the Mastodons (8-7, 5-9 Summit) in the road victory.
OHIO 76, BALL ST. 57: In Athens, Ohio, Suzanne Grossnickle scored 15 points for the Cardinals (8-16, 3-8 MAC).
INDIANA TECH 91, MICHIGAN-DEARBORN 54: Five players scored in double figures for the Warriors in a home victory. Yasmine Coleman led the way with 23 points. Brittnay Jones had 15 points and 11 rebounds for Indiana Tech (14-14, 6-10 WHAC).
HUNTINGTON 63, TAYLOR 51: Kelsey Green became the 20th Huntington player to score 1,000 points for her career in the home victory. Green finished with 12 points and 13 rebounds for Huntington (17-9, 9-7 MCC).
TRANSYLVANIA 62, MANCHESTER 56: Laine Mello scored 15 points for the Spartans (15-8, 11-5 HCAC) in a road loss.
ALBION 58, TRINE 44: Sydney Spragg scored 16 points for the Thunder (10-13, 4-10 MIAA) in a home loss.
