Toddler critically injured in Fort Wayne

A disturbance inside a home on the city's north side left a 4-year-old girl in critical condition this evening.

Police responded to the 1000 block of West Dupont Road, near Lima Road, at 2:24 p.m. Monday to reports about an unknown problem, Fort Wayne police spokeswoman Raquel Foster said.

The toddler suffered a critical head injury during the disturbance and was taken to a local hospital.

Police said they were interviewing all parties involved, but did not release any other information. The matter remains under investigation by city police and the Allen County prosecutor's office.
