Aleli Ruiz Oregon, right, and others gather flowers for bouquets at Gassafy Wholesale Flowers, 5 days before Valentine's Day. Gassafy processes about 350,000 roses in the run up to Valentine's Day, providing bouquets to florists and groceried locally and in Michigan, Ohio and Illinois.

Shooter's Comments: Who knew filling a vase with a few flowers took so many steps and so many people? But, I guess when you're dealing with 350,000 roses in 5 days, the automation helps.

I actually got to Gassafy Wholesale Florist at the wrong time; I should have been there about 5 a.m., when the first trucks were rolling in, packed with roses. It's difficult to double shoot: video and stills at the same time. I always seem to have the wrong camera running at the wrong time. In this case, I think the video won the battle.
