Shooter's Comments:
I was looking for sledders at Franke Park. Because of a few inches of fresh powder, schools were delayed. When I pulled up to the parking lot, a found an ancient golden retriever and a man preparing to bike off into the woods.
The dog, Kaysee, was very friendly and bouncy. Brian Dawson, the owner, was very friendly and less bouncy, but knew of a hill on the trail that would make a good vantage for photos. Kaysee took off ahead of us down the trail and wouldn't respond to Dawson's voice; then he told me she was deaf.
When she turned around, she saw him waving his arms, and ran back. That gave me enough time to get in front of them for a nice photo.
