Rogers sues over royalties

Kenny Rogers is suing Capitol Records, claiming the company has not properly paid him for digital downloads, ringtones and other uses of his songs.

Rogers, in the lawsuit filed Monday in federal court in Nashville, Tenn., is seeking a declaration that under his contract, he is owed 50 percent of net royalties for the licensing of his master recordings to third-parties like iTunes and Verizon Wireless.

Rogers claims the company owes him at least $400,000.

Bonnaroo lineup

The reunited Beach Boys will celebrate sunshine and summer at the 2012 Bonnaroo Music and Arts Festival with Radiohead, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Phish and Bon Iver.

The always eclectic four-day festival’s lineup also will include Skrillex, Foster the People, the Avett Brothers, the Shins, the Roots and Alice Cooper. It will be held June 7-10 on a 700-acre farm in Manchester, Tenn. Tickets go on sale Saturday.

Pauly D at Harrah’s

A “Jersey Shore” cast member is taking his act south.

DJ Paul “Pauly D” DelVecchio will become a resident DJ at The Pool at Harrah’s, the swimming pool/nightclub at Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City.

His debut performance is scheduled for March 31, with another on April 28. A Harrah’s spokeswoman says the casino hopes to have him perform at least nine times during the year.

Gaga foundation

Oprah Winfrey is among those scheduled to join Lady Gaga at Harvard University this month for the launch of the singer’s Born This Way Foundation.

The non-profit foundation said in a statement Tuesday the event is scheduled for Feb. 29 at Harvard’s Graduate School of Education.

The Born This Way Foundation will address issues like self-confidence, anti-bullying, mentoring and career development through research, education and advocacy.
