Indy officer’s surrender ends standoff

– An Indianapolis police officer turned himself in to fellow officers at a city park after a four-hour standoff Tuesday.

The Indianapolis Star reported that officer Craig Ratcliff, 54, surrendered just after 1 p.m. and was seen getting into an ambulance. He was carrying a small box of candy, a greeting card and a stuffed animal.

The standoff is believed to have started from a domestic situation. Some area streets were closed and people were being diverted away from the park.
