Duane Ticknor, a minor-league coaching veteran who led the Dakota Wizards to back-to-back playoff appearances from 2007 to ’09, will be the next head coach of the Mad Ants.Gilbert Brown, who played 19 games and started seven, was released by the Mad Ants on Monday.
The 6-foot-6 guard from Pittsburgh averaged 12.2 points and 4 rebounds.
In other roster moves, the Ants are expected to pull point guard Tory Jackson from the injured list. Jackson, who has been out two weeks with a sprained ankle but returned to practice, averaged 7.2 points and 3 assists in 26 games.
On Sunday, the Ants signed 6-3 guard Thomas Baudinet, who averaged 7.6 points with Iowa.
