FORT WAYNE – Northeast Indiana is on the right economic track, according to an annual study released Thursday.
The Community Research Institute at IPFW today highlighted its Business Dynamics Report. The study tracks business activity in the 10-county region. It chronicles companies new to the area, expansions, layoffs, closings, downsizings and call-backs.
The report, conducted on behalf of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership, revealed that 2011 generated the most new jobs in four years. There were 18 “net new company announcements” with 1,692 new positions last year.
