Shoplifters use stun gun on store worker

Fort Wayne police are looking for a man and woman who used a stun gun on a Kroger loss prevention employee late Thursday morning.

Police were called to the store at 218 E. Pettit Ave. shortly before 11:30 a.m. They learned the employee was shot with the stun gun after confronting a man and a woman who were concealing store items, according to a statement from the Fort Wayne Police Department.

It said the man involved used the stun gun and then both fled the Southgate Plaza store.

The woman is described as being about 5 feet tall and 20 to 25 years old. She was last seen wearing a black coat and carrying a purple backpack and a light-colored purse.

The man was described as being between 5-feet-5 and 5-feet-6, with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing a black coat, possibly a red-hooded sweatshirt and a gray stocking hat.

Anyone knowing the identity or whereabouts of either person is asked to call police at 260-427-1222 or CrimeStoppers at 260-436-7867.
