New Haven police arrested two people early Monday after finding methamphetamine and precursors used to make the drug in a car on the lot of where a burglary had taken place, police said.
Police responded to a burglary at a business in the 2200 block of Meyer Road on Sunday. Officers found two one-pot meth labs that were not active in the building, police said.
The owner of the business said he believed an ex-business partner might have been involved in the burglary. The owner asked for extra patrols, police said.
About 1:45 a.m. Monday, officer Kristen Lewis saw a vehicle believed to have been owned by the suspect in the business’s lot, police said.
Precursors used to make meth were found inside and outside the vehicle, police said.
Police found Daniel G. Tippmann, 27, and Tara R. Morrison, 26, inside the vehicle. Tippman was found in possession of meth, police said, and was arrested on felony charges of possession of two or more precursors and possession of a controlled substance.
Morrison was arrested on a felony charge of possession of two or more precursors.
