Child porn site hijacks girls' photos on Facebook

CHARLTON, Mass. – Federal officials have shut down part of a website whose owners are accused of hijacking Facebook pictures of teenage girls at dozens of high schools and posted them on a website featuring child pornography.

Charlton Police Lt. Carl Ekman said the website was shut down Thursday. Police say the site featured 17 girls attending Bay Path Regional Vocational Technical High School in Charlton and other schools from across Massachusetts.

Bay Path's Superintendent-Director David Papagni said parents alerted school officials.

The photos of the fully-clothed girls contained information that could be used to identify the teens, including town and school signs. The website is hosted in Ohio, but its servers are in eastern Europe.

The FBI is reviewing the situation to determine whether federal laws were violated.
