Construction to build an Interstate 69 interchange at Union Chapel Road is expected to begin by mid-March, the Indiana Department of Transportation said today.
Drivers can expect to see construction signs and temporary barrier walls on the interstate near Union Chapel by early to mid-March, the transportation department said in a statement.
Beginning March 26, weather permitting, Union Chapel is to close between Auburn and Diebold roads for the construction season, the statement said.
That week, it said, the existing bridge is to be demolished at night, and the interstate will have 20-minute stoppages and then be reopened.
The project is to be completed by late fall, except for the northbound on-ramp to Interstate 69 from Union Chapel, the statement said.
