IPFW at Eastern Kentucky

When: 7 p.m. today

Where: Richmond, Ky.

Records: IPFW 10-16, Eastern Kentucky 14-14

Radio: 1380 AM

IPFW leaders: Frank Gaines (20.1 ppg), Gaines (5.7 rpg), Jonny Marlin (3.5 apg)

Eastern Kentucky leaders: Jaron Jones (16.3 ppg), Eric Stutz (4.8 rpg), Mike DiNunno (2.9 apg)

Key matchup: Gaines has been a problem all season for opponents, especially those who haven’t seen the Mastodons often. And at 6-10, senior center Trey McCorkle is still a load inside for teams. Eastern Kentucky guard DiNunno runs the point but also averages 10 points. He’s a transfer from Northern Illinois.

The skinny: IPFW has lost six in a row. The Mastodons have dropped 10 of their last 11. But the only game they have been blown out came against South Dakota State (74-43). All the others, they’ve lost by 11 points or less. … IPFW fell to Summit League leader Oral Roberts 75-71 at Memorial Coliseum on Wednesday.
