OK, so she didn't win the pole. Carl Edwards did that (with teammate Greg Biffle alongside, which suggests the Fords have everyone covered right now).
But Danica Patrick didn't do something else Sunday, either, on a windy qualifying day at Daytona.
She didn't screw up.
She got around 29th quickest, which doesn't sound all that impressive until you consider she was faster than the likes of Kurt Busch and Denny Hamlin. More to the point, she didn't stuff it in the wall on a day when even Biffle, who'll share the front row with Edwards, complained about how difficult the wind was to handle.
So, onward, then.
