A Fort Wayne man who failed in his attempt to rob a local credit union was sentenced Tuesday in Allen Superior Court to four years in prison.
Michael Boester, 34, of the 1700 block of Franklin Avenue, pleaded guilty in January to a single charge of attempted robbery.
On Tuesday, Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck accepted the guilty plea and sentenced Boester to six years in prison but suspended two years and ordered that time served on probation.
This month, Molly Hutmacher, 23, was given a term of probation after she pleaded guilty to attempted bank robbery. A charge of neglect of a dependent was dismissed.
According to court documents, Hutmacher drove her boyfriend, Boester, to the Freedom Financial Credit Union at 1802 Inwood Drive in November.
Boester went in to rob the credit union, but a customer elbowed him and then chased him outside. The customer then memorized the license plate number of the vehicle driven by Hutmacher, according to court documents.
