An Ohio man was sentenced to more than 58 years in prison Tuesday after an Allen Superior Court judge called him among the worst of the worst.
In January, an Allen Superior Court jury convicted Joshua C. Johnson, 25, of three Class A felony counts of child molesting, two Class C felony counts of child molesting, child exploitation, possession of child pornography, display of matter harmful to minors and dissemination of matter harmful to minors.
In sentencing Johnson, Allen Superior Court Judge John Surbeck said it is likely that his abuse of the young girl turned the child's value system upside down, causing substantial damage.
He sentenced Johnson to 50 years on the Class A felonies and eight years on the Class C felony counts of child molesting and ordered those sentences to be served at the same time.
He then sentenced Johnson to four years for child exploitation, and 1 1/2 years each on the child pornography, display of matter harmful to minors and dissemination of matter harmful to minors. Those sentences will be served consecutively to each other and after the 50-year sentence on the child molesting charges for a total sentence of 58 1/2 years.
The abuse came to light in August when a witness told investigators there was a video of Johnson repeatedly molesting the girl, according to court documents.
During a search of Johnson's cellphone, police found a number of anime images of child pornography, including bondage-type sexual images.
