Pair charged with vandalizing school

A man and woman are accused of vandalizing Monroeville Elementary and causing more than $11,000 in damage.

Ian Fifer, 20, and Kalie Keller, 19, were each charged Wednesday in Allen Superior Court with burglary and criminal mischief

According to court papers, Fifer and Keller climbed to the roof of Monroeville Elementary on Sept. 5 and broke in through a door.

Inside the building, the pair spray-painted, used fire extinguishers, smashed electronics and destroyed other school property, court papers said.

Security cameras captured the acts of vandalism, which led to Fifer and Keller being identified as suspects.

Fifer, of Monroeville, and Keller, of the 11700 block of East Tillman Road in Fort Wayne, were not in custody Wednesday.

Both have warrants for their arrests.
