Things got a little chippy in the first-ever matchup between the Northrop and Kokomo boys basketball teams.
But cooler heads prevailed in the Wildkats' 68-58 road win over the Bruins on Friday.
It's the first time the two programs have played on the basketball court, since last year's scheduled game was snowed out.
The Class 4A No. 8 Wildkats and No. 9 Bruins had a couple of pushing matches, there were some verbal and non-verbal taunts and a few fans on both sides could be heard getting vocal, mainly at the officials.
Kokomo coach Brian McCauley even called it a "hostile environment" after the game.
Things never escalated past some typical posturing, though.
