Key matchup: The last time these two teams met was the Summit League opener for both on Dec. 1 at Memorial Coliseum. UMKC hit 60 percent (27 of 45) of its field-goal attempts, and four players scored in double figures in the Kangaroos 81-66 win. IPFW got a combined 40 points from Gaines and Trey McCorkle, while the rest of the team hit 10 of 28 shots for 26 points.
The skinny: There will be no tie-breaker to determine who advances. Since both teams are tied in the standings and this is the final game of the regular season, whoever wins tonight gets the eighth and final berth for next months Summit League tournament in Sioux Falls, S.D., and the right to play regular-season conference champion Oral Roberts in the first round. UMKC has lost four in a row; IPFW has lost eight straight and 12 of its last 13. IPFW is 2-13 in road games.
