One happy thought: At least I know now I can read weather radar.
When I saw it four-plus hours ago, I figured there was no way on God's green earth they were going to get the Daytona 500 in, and so it is. For the first time ever, the race has been postponed until Monday.
The bad news: The weather Monday doesn't look any better than today. The official start time is noon, but a lot of the people keeping an eye on this say it doesn't look remotely good until, say, 7 p.m.
In the meantime ... I thought Fox's list of the top 10 Daytona 500s of all time was curious, not to say utterly bogus. They had No. 1 right -- 1979, when Richard Petty won, network TV aired it flag-to-flag for the first time and the Allisons and Cale Yarborough threw down on the backstretch on the last lap. But No. 2 should have been Petty and David Pearson crashing each other out in the final turn in 1976, with Pearson limping across the line to win.
Instead, unaccountably, Fox had that one listed ninth.
