Hummel earns Big Ten honor

Purdue's Robbie Hummel was named Big Ten Co-Player of the Week on Monday.

Hummel averaged 23 points, eight rebounds and 1.5 blocks in victories against Nebraska and at Michigan.

Hummel had a season-high 29 points against Nebraska. He had 17 points and nine rebounds against Michigan.

Hummel shared the honor with Iowa's Matt Gatens.

"It's well-deserved," Purdue coach Matt Painter said during the Big Ten teleconference. "Any time your team wins, I think some individual awards are going to follow. It was good to see that."
