Just when it appeared as though the Mad Ants were on their way to their 11th straight loss, they came up with a sensational second quarter that enabled them to get back in the game against Dakota on Friday at Memorial Coliseum.
The Ants trailed 40-24 at the end of the first quarter but outscored the Wizards 35-23 in the second to get within 63-59 at halftime.
While Ron Howard leads the team in scoring with 13 points, it's been the play of point guards Tory Jackson and Devan Downey that has led the resurgence. Jackson, who hit a shot just as the shot clock buzzer sounded with 9.5 seconds left in the half, has four points and three assists, and Downey has five points and four assists.
Newcomer Charles Garcia has five points.
