Ants get another new player

The newest member of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants has seen more Ants wins than Fort Wayne guard Devan Downey, and Downey has been with the team for more than a month.

Charles Garcia, a 6-foot-9, 230-pound forward, was picked up by the Ants today and is expected to play when the Ants face Dakota at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Coliseum.

Garcia, who scored 12 points for the East in the recent D-League All-Star game, was waived by Sioux Falls and quickly snagged by the Ants, who will attempt to end a 10-game losing streak that enveloped all of February.

Garcia was a member of the Sioux Falls Skyforce when they played the Ants in the season opener - a game in which the Ants won, 110-106. Garcia torched the Ants for 32 points and 18 rebounds in the game.

To make room for Garcia, the Ants waived guard Travis Walton.
