Komets defeat Quad City

Komets gain ground on Evansville

The Komets cruised to a 7-2 victory at Quad City on Friday.

The victory moved Fort Wayne (36-17-3) to within a point of Turner Conference-leading Evansville (36-15-4), which lost 2-1 to Wichita.

Jamie Milam scored twice for the Komets, who also got goals from Stephon Thorne, Jesse Bennefield, Frankie DeAnglis, Chris Auger and Leo Thomas.

Nick Boucher stopped 24 of 26 shots for the Komets

Brandon Marino and Mickey Lang scored for Quad City (30-23-2).
